Silvana Leyva
My name is Silvana Leyva, and I was born in San Diego, California, into a large Colombian family. By the age of 11, I had already lived in six countries, and each has left its mark on me in unique ways. Throughout all these moves, the one constant in my life—besides family—was fashion. Clothes weren't just items to wear; they became a way for me to express my identity, tell stories, and adapt to new environments.
My love for fashion began when I realized that, besides my family, the only constant in my life was my clothes. They too told a story. Ever since I was a little girl, I’d often dressed up and styled myself and my siblings. However, it wasn’t until I moved to Mexico that I truly understood the profound impact fashion can have on someone's life and the environment.
Despite my love for fashion, I became aware of the industry's detrimental effects on the planet, particularly the fast fashion sector. This realization motivated me to create a company that would make a positive difference by creating stylish and sustainable clothes. That’s how ReJean was born.
